My name is Catherine Westbrook and I have a B.A. in Math from Sam Houston State University. I am originally from Ohio, but I moved to Houston at 10 so I believe that officially makes me a Texan. I have lived in The Woodlands for the past 7 years and I love this community.
I am a mother of 3, Jobe (19), Forrest (11), and Madeline (9). My daughter has Angelman Syndrome which is caused by a deletion on her 15th chromosome, and I try to stay active in the various organizations supporting a cure. My oldest attends Lonestar college and is very interested in music production at the moment. Forrest attends Mitchell Intermediate and, much to my absolute terror, loves playing tackle football.
I enjoy cooking, music, traveling, spending time in the pool with my family, Harry Potter marathons, Outlander, sometimes jogging, and all things Math.
This will be my first year teaching. I have been privately tutoring all areas of Math and substitute teaching for Conroe ISD for the past year, and I am so excited to begin my teaching career. I want to foster a love of Math in my students, and to share how fun Math can be. “I’m just not good at Math” is a statement I hope to change, as I believe that everyone is good at Math, and it just takes someone to show you your potential.
I’m looking forward to this year and all the years to come!
