Esprit's program is designed to meet students' needs through a balanced curriculum. The academic environment provides alternative opportunities for learning and applying knowledge to facilitate skill acquisition in a multi-faceted approach. We utilize a series of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary thematic units as a method which allow students to extend their learning across the curriculum. Esprit's curriculum is objective based and criterion-referenced while integrating standards within transdisciplinary units of study. Working from a solid academic foundation, Esprit sets out clear objectives for students to develop the skill sets necessary to succeed in a constantly changing work setting and society. These objectives include:
Teachers must share a common vision to meet student needs while developing and implementing the curriculum. Indeed, to be an effective learning environment, all teachers within the school must work together to reach this common goal. At Esprit, all teachers are committed to the school philosophy and helping students reach their highest potential.
Esprit International School students enjoy a high level of accomplishment in part due to our commitment to fostering a learning culture that makes it “safe to be smart.” Our students are encouraged to ask questions, to speak up in a group, to voice opinions, to ask for help, to assume leadership, to make independent decisions and to solve problems with peers. As other schools seek methods to achieve educational excellence, more and more are turning to the well-researched practices that we actively incorporate into our learning environments. These practices include maintaining a positive and safe learning culture, implementing a constructionist teaching approach, utilizing brain-based learning techniques, and initiating student-centered learning groups.
Welcome to Esprit International School! At Esprit, we are dedicated to building a solid foundation of joy for learning. The love of learning and love of life are the fundamental approaches we apply in teaching each student.
