Growing up in a Puerto Rican teachers' family, I was taught that the most important period in a child's life was their early years. The passion and love for teaching was planted deep in my soul when I was very young and it bloomed when my kids joined a Montessori classroom 15 years ago.
I fell in love with the Montessori philosophy when our first born daughter attended one of the best known Montessori Schools in Puerto Rico when she was just 13 months old. It was love at first sight.
As a first- time mom, I wanted the best educational environment for my little one and I was convinced that the Montessori method was the right choice. The Montessori philosophy provides the child a method to learn and develop at their own pace, and also provides an environment which promotes a holistic lifestyle. After our daughter, we had 2 boys, and without having second thoughts we took them to the same Montessori school where they stayed until 6th grade (the school did not have a secondary program). During my children's Montessori school years I read and learned a lot about the philosophy and the materials as well as what to expect and what not to expect.
In 2014, we moved to The Woodlands, Texas with the best memories of a school which provided a learning experience in loving and caring environment. I am currently in the process of pursuing one of my dreams; to become a certified Montessori teacher.
